DBV is committed to creating an environment for which its members can grow from club level to representative level competition. This aligns with areas of DBV's strategic plan and supports the Athlete Pathway framework set by AusDBF.

To help deliver this, DBV are looking to appoint a Head Coach for the VIC26 State campaign. 

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing coaching direction and mentoring to divisional coaches and assistant coaches whilst balancing coaches with a high level of autonomy
  • Supporting divisional coaches to meet VIC26 timelines and are held accountable towards achieving VIC26 goals
  • Drive collaboration of the VIC26 coaching team and partake in meetings as scheduled
  • Be accountable for coaching decisions for the success of achieving VIC26 goals and the benefit of the sport
  • Spearhead promotion of the VIC26 campaign to clubs and athletes to increase interest and engagement
  • Work alongside the Campaign Manager and periodically report to DBV on the progress of the campaign
     

To be successful in this role:

  • Hold at least Level 2 ANCAS coaching accreditation in dragon boating
  • Ability to be impartial, recognise bias and apply integrity
  • Have a strong interest in developing coaches and athletes in a high-performance environment
  • Be a financial member of DBV or other AusDBF association
  • Be able to commit to the VIC26 coaching team for the 2025/26 racing season including traveling to the 2026 AusChamps event in Sunshine Coast, QLD
