2026/27 Regatta Season Calendar

After months of planning, consultation with clubs and members, input from RAG and approval by the DBV Board, the 2026/27 Season Calendar has been released.

In determining the 2026/27 regatta venues, Dragon Boat Victoria has applied the following guiding principles:

Availability and Variety: Selection of venues that are accessible and offer a diverse range of racing environments, including a balanced mix of metropolitan (Melbourne) and regional locations.
Quality of Competition:Preference for courses with fixed lane systems where feasible to support fair and consistent racing conditions.
Increased Participation Opportunities: Addition of a July regatta to expand opportunities for paddlers and sweeps across the season.
Existing Commitments: Fulfilment of established agreements with Alpine Resorts Victoria (Falls Creek) and Wodonga Council (Cross Border Championships).
Venue Suitability: Docklands and Ballarat have not been included due to identified limitations, including venue constraints and challenging weather and availability conditions respectively.
Member Feedback Alignment: A varied regatta schedule incorporating Saturday, Sunday and two-day events, reflecting member preferences.

This approach aims to deliver a balanced, high-quality and sustainable regatta calendar for the 2026/27 season.
