Working With Children Checks (WWCC)

Who Requires a Check

Exemptions from a WWCC

In addition, a friendly reminder to any teachers in the DBV community, if you are involved at club level on the Committee, as a Sweep or coach etc, when renewing your VIT you shoud add DBV as an interested party.
Carrum Regatta

Thank you to all Clubs for their timely crew entries. The Race Draw is now being developed and will be distributed for feedback in the coming days along with the Race Guide and all relevant information. Keep an eye on The DBV WhatsApp Group and the Carrum Event Page for updates.

A reminder that crew changes can be made until 12pm noon on Friday 12 September.

When submitting a request to DBV for members of another club to be added to your crew list, please ensure you do so using a Crew Dispensation Form. N.B. You will need to download a copy and save it using a new name (such as your club or your name) and send a copy to paul@dragonboatvictoria.com.au.

If you haven't registered and you wish to volunteer at any of the upcoming Regattas for season 25/26, please register here. A reminder that all participating clubs MUST provide at least one (1) volunteer at each Regatta. More than one is encouraged and DBV is willing to work with Clubs on arrangements including providing additional volunteers at 'local' Regattas and fewer at those requiring longer travel.

All volunteers are provided with training and supervision, food and beverage and the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our sport.

Corporate Games

DBV is assisting the Australia Corporate Games (ACG) by running a Regatta on Saturday 15 November in Footscray. If you or your company are interested in participating, please refer to the ACG Website for registration details, or reach out to DBV. There will be a call out for Sweeps and Drummers to support the event closer to the time.

In addition to the Games, DBV is seeking expressions of interest for other categories to be held alongside the Corporate Races. Considering BCP clubs were otherwise engaged with an event on the Gold Coast on the same weekend as Carrum, DBV would like to offer a number of BCP events. There is also time in the morning for a short Premier Racing program and will take place based on adequate interest. Approximate timeframe being 9am - 1pm for Premiers, and 1pm - 5pm for BCP and Australian Corporate Games.

To gauge interest the following Survey has been created and is now open. The survey will close on Sunday 21 September.

Coaching Courses

DBV has received tentative Coach Course dates for 2025/2026. They are all 2-day courses:

25 and 26 October
6 and 7 December
7 and 8 March

In order for the Courses to best address demand, DBV is seeking your input into what Level courses the membership needs. To assist, please complete the following Survey

The survey is now open and will close on Tuesday 16 September.

Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Survey

AusDBF has requested for DBV members to complete the following survey provided by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) as part of their Quality of Experience survey using Net Promoter Score (NPS) methodology. The ASC will analyse the results and share tailored insights back to DBV.

Feedback is anonymous and helps shape the future of sport in Australia.

Link to Survey HERE. The survey closes on 30 September. Thank you for your support.
