DBV wishes all members a Happy New Year.

2026 starts with Falls Creek on Sunday 25 January. A reminder that registrations close at 11.59pm on Wednesday 14 January. DBV is still looking for assistance from someone to drive the Umpire's Boat. If you or someone you know has their marine licence, please contact paul@dragonboatvictoria.com.au. 

Following Falls Creek is our Lunar New Year regatta in Geelong on Sunday 15 February.

Details regarding Vic Champs will be issued shortly. Planning for the 26/27 season is taking shape and DBV looks forward to releasing next season's regatta calendar in the coming weeks. 

DBV will shortly release the nomination and selection process for DBV's Flag Bearer at the 2026 Australian Championships in QLD. 

The process will be open to all VIC26 Athletes, Coaches and Team Managers. Nominations will close on 30 January and the succesful candidate will be announced at Vic Champs. 

The VIC26 Leadership Team and Coaches have now selected the Athletes who will represent Victoria at this years Australian Championships. Congratulations to all selected Athletes and thank you to everyone who has been part of the selection process.

Thank you to those who responded to the call out for interest in a Level 1 or Level 2 Coaching Course in the last newsletter. If you missed the notice and you are interested in attending one of these, please contact paul@dragonboatvictoria.com.au

DBV is exploring running a Level 1 course in the Gippsland / Paynesville area in January so numbers must be firmed up ASAP. 

A Level 2 course is likely to take place at Docklands in mid-2026. 

If you would like to participate in either course please let Paul know. 

DBV wishes to draw your attention to a previously advertised ACT Junior/18U only Regatta as well as two additional racing opportunities at AusChamps if your club is not attending or combining with another club under the AusDBF Rules and Racing - Edition 13.3 - namely Joeys (18U) and Kangaroos (all other divisions).
