Regatta News

1. Lunar New Year.

Thank you to the almost 500 paddlers who attended this year's LNY regatta in Geelong. The weather was great, the atmosphere was fantastic and the two cultural ceremonies to acknowledge our traditions were an absolute highlight. If you attended as an athlete, or coach/team manager, DBV would love to hear from you by completing the relevant survey found here

DBV is aware of a few incorrect results and are working hard to improve the timing process ahead of Vic Champs. It's important to note that upon review, the times listed in the LNY Results Public View and on RevSport are correct. The error was in relation to the total time of some crews in the Premier Open 10's - Triathlon, which affected podium finishes. DBV apologises for the mistake but assures clubs times captured on the day are accurate.

2. Vic Champs.

Information has been added to the Vic Champs Event Page view here. Categories will be added very shortly, however, the three race distances will be 2km, 500m and 200m, as per Aus Champs schedule.

3. May Regatta

As previously highlighted, to provide clubs with additional racing opportunities lost by the cancellation of Ballarat and Falls Creek, DBV is organising a regatta on Sunday 17 May to be held on the Maribyrnong River, in Footscray. Please add this to your diary. Further information will be released soon.

Are you missing out on key Regatta updates? If so, join the DBV WhatsApp Group to ensure you're in the know. Tip: if you're not attending a Regatta and don't want to receive messages you can 'mute' the chat for the day without having to leave.

3. The invitation to join this years Joeys, Kangaroos and ParaDragons team at Aus Champs is now open.

The Paradragon races at AusChamps is open to all registered members across Australia, regardless of whether you are already in State teams, or competing for your club, or your clubs not competing at AusChamps this year. All Paradragon athletes (of all abilities from around Australia) are encouraged to register. Paradragons is an open age division.

The Joeys was developed in 2016 and endorsed by AusDBF to encourage racing opportunities for our youngest athletes. We are excited to continue the tradition in 2026. This is aimed at young people who cannot participate in club racing within the Junior division.

The prime objective of the Kangaroos Team is to provide an opportunity for athletes whose club is not participating in AusChamps. Please click the appropriate link below to register your interest.
