As referenced in the newsletter issued to members on Thursday, 16 October (view here), the Board has now completed step two of the Constitution Review timeline. Following an assessment of submissions received, DBV is excited to announce the formation of the Constitution Review Working Group. Thank you to all applicants.

The Board have selected the following members who represent a cross-section of clubs and regions:

1. David Nairn (Dragon Masters)
2. Doug Stevens (Dragonflys)
3. Mark Wheeldon (Kingfisher/YRD)
4. Ryz Dela Rosa (CYSM)
5. Sue O'Connell (Brave Hearts)

They will be joined by Board Members Jacqui Hillas, Caroline Mulcahy and Heather Watts.

We now move into phase 3, where members and / or Clubs have the opportunity to formally provide feedback on the draft Constitution. A copy of both the current, and draft documents are provided below:

All feedback must be submitted to administration@dragonboatvictoria.com.au and should be set out in a way appropriate for the Working Group to compile and consider including the use of specific clause references. The submission period opens today, Monday 27 October, and closes on Sunday 2 November. 

Throughout November and December, the Working Group will meet a minimum of three (3) times to review the feedback, make necessary changes and finalise the next iteration in readiness to be shared with the DBV membership on 10 January, 2026. 

Whilst members will have the opportunity to provide ongoing feedback, we strongly urge you to make use of the formal feedback period this week to ensure your feedback remains relevant, and is considered within the initial information gathering phase.
